I tend to think that you can make flat shoes work with any outfit for any occasion—mainly because there are so many incredible options these days, from dressy to casual. I used to automatically reach for heels whenever I had a special occasion, but with the vast array of flat shoe styles to choose from now, that’s no longer always the case.

I think that brands have finally realized that people just want to be comfortable without sacrificing style. It’s a pretty simple concept and a great explanation for why there are so many good flats to choose from lately. Speaking from personal experience, I’ve slowly started to shop for fall, and I’m realizing that I’ve only bought flat shoes thus far—no heels.
